New Kind
Church

Vision

The vision of New Kind Church is:

  • To be Real
  • To be Respectful
  • To be Relational
  • To be Relevant
  • To be Racially inclusive
  • To be Reproducing
  • To be Reverent

Real

Being real means that we have to be honest with ourselves and with each other. Church should not be a place for pretending to be someone who you are not. If you're going through difficulties, you should not have to put on a fake smile and pretend that you are happy. If you're joyful, you should not have to be stoic and emotionless in church.

Respectful

Being respectful means that everybody should be treated with respect. Each person has been created by God, regardless of race, gender, age, politics, economic class, social class, sexual dispositions, body mass index, hair length, views on evolution, etc. We believe that even though we can have differing opinions on matters (which everyone does), we can still be respectful of each other.

Relational

Being relational means that the Christian life should be lived in the context of genuine relationships. It goes beyond a couple of hours per week glancing at each other inside a church building. People should know each other, care for each other, and live lives with each other.

Relevant

Being relevant means that Christianity should impact all areas of our lives. The teachings of the Bible should have application in our lives, and not just to fill our heads with knowledge.

Racially inclusive

Being racially inclusive means that churches should not consist of one single demographic group. Heaven is going to be racially and ethnically quite diverse. The church should reflect this.

Reproducing

It is the natural cycle of nature to reproduce. A church is no exception. It is a living creation and should multiply. To allow for this, church practices should be easily reproducible and not require extraordinary skills, talents, or resources.

Reverent

We worship a God who is worthy of our continued worship. He alone deserves all glory, honor and praise. We are deserving of nothing and should be continually grateful for his unbounding grace and mercy.
